SUMMARY:Saturday Afternoon at the Movies
DESCRIPTION:  \nMembers & guests–free \nLocation: Via Zoom \nFree on Netflix\, available to rent on Amazon Prime for $3.99\n \nEvery Saturday afternoon\, join fellow film aficionados of the Village for an in-depth organic discussion of films new and old. Watch the selected film any time–or enjoy the discussion and be persuaded to view it after! \nThis week the group is watching Idiocracy (2006) \nIn 2005\, average Americans\, Joe and Rita\, are selected to be part of a secret military experiment which places them in hibernation for a year. Unfortunately they are forgotten and the military base closes. 500 years later\, they are awakened to find the intelligence of their fellow citizens has decreased to the point where Joe appears to be the smartest man on earth. Sounds unbelievable? Luke Wilson and Maya Rudolph star in a comedy which seems more like a documentary about life in America in 2025.

SUMMARY:Saturday Afternoon at the Movies
DESCRIPTION:Members & guests–free \nEvery Saturday afternoon\, join fellow film aficionados of the Village for an in-depth organic discussion of films new and old. Watch the selected film any time–or enjoy the discussion and be persuaded to view it after! \nThis week the group is watching Oh. What. Fun. 2025\, 118min\, Free on Amazon (sans commercials)\n\nMichelle Pfieffer (Claire\, still looking fabulous) is the ultimate Christmas mom\, but no one appreciates her … at least not as much as she wants them to. Her 3 kids visit every year\, all with their own issues\, and the Asian-American family across the street seems to do Christmas better than Claire.  The film has a lot of fun\, a little drama\, and a LOT of Christmas to put us in the mood. If you’re on the fence about decorating for Xmas\, this movie may sway you.
