Please call the office at 773-248-8700 to ask about being placed on the waitlist for this event. \nLunch:  12:00pm\, North & Clark Cafe\, located inside the Museum \nThe Chicago History Museum has been collecting garments for nearly a century\, likely one of the largest collections of any museum in the world.  In this exhibit the oldest garment dates from the 1770’s while the most recent dates to last year.  Our museum docent will guide us as we view men’s and women’s clothing created by designers such as Dior\, Chanel\, Versace as well as lesser-known phenoms.  Lots of Chicago history here.  You don’t have to be a fashionista to enjoy the show.  The self-hosted lunch follows the tour. \n

Any standing movements can be mimicked in a chair if needed. Modify as needed\, or ask for alternative movements during demos. \nFor the class\, have a stable chair (like a dining table chair)\, and two light hand weights (two water bottles or two cans) to use for resistance exercises. Wear athletic shoes that secure onto your feet and have water to drink. Work on functional/full body strength\,joint mobility\, posture\, balance\, pairing movement with breath\, and core strength. This one hour class starts with warm up movements\, moves to balance\, posture and resistance exercises\, and finishes with seated core and stretching exercises. \nClass is done standing\, using a wall and seated. Any standing movements can be mimicked in a chair if needed. Modify as needed\, or ask for alternative movements during demos. \nFor the class\, have a stable chair (like a dining table chair)\, and two light hand weights (two water bottles or two cans) to use for resistance exercises. Wear athletic shoes that secure onto your feet and have water to drink. Dress in clothes you can move in comfortably and dress in layers that are easy to remove if you get warm. \nAbout Jill Stein \nInstructor Jill Stein is a veteran group exercise instructor and personal trainer with over 20 years of experience and over 15 years experience working with older adults. \n
