Members & guests—free. To register, please scroll down or call the Village office at 773.248.8700. A member of the office team will follow up with you to determine which volunteer assignment you are most interested in participating.

The Bridging Generations Board invites Village members and guests to participate in a day of volunteer activities for local non-profit orgs, including Lincoln Park Community Services, PAWS Chicago, Lakeview Pantry, and the Lincoln Park Conservancy. Participants will be organized into groups and will spend a few hours giving back and connecting with individuals of all ages. Please see below for details about the tasks each team of volunteers will be undertaking, including the physical activity level involved.

Lincoln Park Conservancy

Restore and maintain the North Pond Nature Sanctuary and its surrounding area! Learn how to sew native seed, plant new wildflowers and grasses, remove invasive species, prune and mulch trees and shrubs, and collect seed heads from prairies and woodlands. Please prepare to be outside (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, hydration, etc.)

Lakeview Pantry

Activity Level: Moderate to Low
Our group will prepare and serve a hot lunch (buffet style) for 20-25 homeless persons. Each volunteer will be asked to give a contribution toward  covering the cost of ingredients (roughly $10 total per volunteer). A group coordinator will be overseeing the purchase of ingredients in advance.
