Most of us would like America to bridge the racial divide – especially to root out and eliminate systemic racism. We believe some members are already taking some form of action beyond The Village Chicago; others don’t know how they could make a difference on this persistent issue. We hope to assemble all of those who are doers at heart, who would like to make a real contribution within their personal time and capability limits. Some ideas will be offered, but we hope participants will contribute their own ideas. Please register to join us to build a network of Village members who want added fulfillment through civic engagement.
About the Racism Action Initiative
This meeting is part of a new Village program spearheaded by members Judith Gethner and Dick Sullivan, the “Racism Action Initiative”. RAI seeks those who want to take increased personal action to help bridge the racial divide in the Chicagoland community. Many members are already volunteering to reduce the racial gap. But if you want to make a greater difference in reducing racism, you might consider this new program.
A brief explanation of the RAI program scope and intent in more detail can be found here.
