Cinema on the Couch: Atonement

Sunday, June 26, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Members only—$10.

Refreshments will be provided.

A fresh and innovative teaching program developed by the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis in which films are used to “illustrate and discuss the deep emotional issues that constitute the daily work of psychoanalysis.” Using that model, we are selecting films which allow us to explore a broad range of emotional issues particularly relevant to older adults. Each film will be discussed by an analyst from the Institute. The next film in the series is Atonement with Keira Knightley, James McAvoy, Saoirse Ronan, and Vanessa Redgrave. Rolling Stone says, it “sweeps you up on waves of humor, heartbreak and ravishing romance.” Discussant will be lead by Tom and Denia Barrett, psychoanalysts from Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis.

Wait list only.
