Healthy Cooking at Home A Virtual Demo with Jen Hurd

Need some cooking inspiration in the new year? Small changes to the way you cook can transform the way you eat and feel. Join us for an evening of healthy cooking, learn a new recipe, and enjoy some wine with friends. No experience necessary. See below for a list of ingredients to pick up before this program so that you can cook along!
Salad
- Spring greens (1 cup per person)
- 1 bunch cilantro
- 1 container baby tomatoes (half for salad/half for salmon relish)
- Corn (1 small bag sweet or roasted frozen corn)
- 1 can black beans
- 4-5 green onions
- 1 bell pepper (orange, red or yellow)
Dressing
- Lime juice (buy 2 fresh)
- Sweetener (honey or agave)
- Olive oil
- Garlic (1-2 cloves)
- Salt & pepper
Main/Protein
- Fresh salmon filet (6-8 ounce per person)
- 1 ripe avocado
- Red onion (1 small onion)
- Other half of container of baby tomatoes
Essentials
- Olive oil
- Salt & pepper
- Cumin
Meal pairs best with: A crisp white wine- Sauvignon Blanc or Albarino

- For in-person programs, The Village Chicago aims to match participating members by request to Village events when other members who are attending the event are able to provide transportation. When registering, please let the Village office know if you are able to drive or would like a ride to an event.
