Tour of The Plant and Farmer’s Market

Members—$7; Guests—$10.

The Plant aims to create a sustainable growing environment where waste is converted to energy. This one-hour tour, in an old Union-Stockyards building, includes an aquaponic farm for fish and greens, mushroom and outdoor farms, and other occupants’ bakery, brewery, and coffee roaster. The group will have a chance to explore the farmer’s   market and buy produce grown at the facility. Carpooling will be coordinated; please indicate if you are willing to drive when registering. Note: the tour is not accessible.

  • Reservations required for all events.
  • For virtual programs, links will be sent to registered attendees via email the day before the event.
  • For in-person programs, The Village Chicago aims to match participating members by request to Village events when other members who are attending the event are able to provide transportation.  When registering, please let the Village office know if you are able to drive or would like a ride to an event.
