Tour of Art and Faith of Crèche at LUMA

Wednesday, November 21, 2018 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Members–$8 & guests–$10. Registration deadline: November 19. To register, please click here or call the Village office at 773.248.8700.

For those of us who have a “collection gene” (guilty) and wonder what our heirs will do with the collection (Goodwill comes to mind), James Govan, found the perfect solution—donate. He and his wife Emilia Govan, collected hundreds of beautiful Crèches from the U.S., Mexico and around the world which he donated to LUMA. Only part of the large collection is displayed at LUMA each year. It is fascinating to see how artists in other countries adapt the Crèche based on materials available, the local climate and their vision of the Nativity. We will have a docent lead the tour of the exhibit.

Note: The Village Chicago is a membership organization, but a limited number of spots for this program are reserved for guests on a first come, first serve basis. If this event becomes over-subscribed, members will receive priority and non-members will be notified and reimbursed their full payment.
