Wouldn’t it be great to do your part to save the environment, and save money at the same time? Here in Illinois, it’s possible thanks to a number of statewide policies that the Citizens Utility Board (CUB) and other stakeholders fought long and hard for. It doesn’t matter if you live in a house or condo. Christina Uzzo, Environmental Outreach Coordinator at CUB, will be our July speaker for the Green Team. In her talk, you’ll hear about programs and policies that can help you be more efficient and reduce Illinois’ reliance on fossil fuel generation. She’ll also explain how the grid works, what happens when you choose your own alternative energy supplier, and what to watch out for. CUB is a non-profit, statewide utility watchdog that works for lower gas, electric and telephone rates. It is currently supporting CEJA, the Clean Energy Jobs Act, in Springfield. Attendees are welcome to enjoy a self-hosted lunch before the program at 12:00 PM at Umai (1217 W Fullerton Ave).
