Saturday, August 18, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Members & guests–$6 plus self-hosted lunch. Registration deadline: August 16. This program is now wait list only. To be added to the wait list, please call the Village office at 773.248.8700.

Village Member John Craib-Cox will lead a walking tour along the Chicago Riverwalk. The tour will cover both the architecture along the River and the history of the Chicago River and its contribution to the development and growth of Chicago. Marquette and Joliet visited this area in 1673, and it has since seen many changes. During this tour you have the opportunity to view buildings from a unique water level perspective. We will also explore the inside of the Michigan Avenue Bridge at the McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum, with an entry cost of $6 per person to be paid on the day of the event. Attendees will then enjoy a self-hosted lunch at a restaurant on the river (TBD).

Please note for accessibility: Accessible entry to the Riverwalk from Wacker is possible at ADA specification ramps at State Street and from Wacker between Orleans and Lake Streets. While the Riverwalk is level and easy to walk along, the McCormick Bridgehouse and Chicago River Museum involves stairs and is not accessible. However, there is seating outside for those who do not care to visit the Bridgehouse.
