Taking Action for Criminal Justice Workshop

Sunday, April 22, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Members & guests–freeTo register for the workshop, click here or contact Nick Cade at or Lydia Munroe at 312.944.1083.

This workshop will focus on opportunities to get involved in criminal justice reform and in addressing the needs of those caught up in the criminal justice system. It will include a choice of breakout sessions that will provide an opportunity to dig deeper into understanding ways everyone can contribute to addressing some of the many sources and consequences of injustice in our complex criminal justice system. They will build on the programs that St. Chrysostom’s Church presented in the winter in collaboration with The Village Chicago and others on how our criminal system puts more people in prison and jail than public safety requires, contributes to a cycle of crime and punishment, and concentrates the resulting damage disproportionately on people and communities of color.

The flyer for the Workshop is available here; after March 30 you can get more details about this workshop and the materials covered in the winter programs here; and you can click here to access a current list of upcoming events and training opportunities, organizations to support, and resources to consult, including videos of our programs in the fall and winter.
