The Life 3.0 Committee Presents: A Chicago Murals Tour

Sunday, September 18 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Members & Guests: $25. Lunch self-hosted. The day before the event, a confirmation email will be sent to registered attendees with details.

Chicago is home to some of the best artists in the world. But it’s not all just Picasso and Calder. There are many artists who create right before our eyes, but we may never notice it. That’s where the Offbeat Street Art Tour comes in.

The Offbeat Street Art Tour is meant to help elevate and celebrate Chicago’s street art scene which historically has lived in a grey area between being legal and illegal. Often celebrated and shunned in the same sentence, it can be unclear which installations are commissioned, legal, or simply put up on a whim. Art can appear and disappear overnight, depending on which city departments are involved. Our Offbeat Street Art Tour guide is a professional artist and murals expert. His goal is to help educate those who appreciate the overlooked, under-appreciated, or misunderstood secrets of our city.

Jan and Carol, members of the Life 3.0 Committee, took this tour in July and loved every moment. Our guide shared his in-depth knowledge of the social and cultural foundations as well as the artistic craft of these murals. We encourage you to have the same joyful experience, so come join us for this 1.5 mile leisurely walk.

An optional self-hosted lunch at the Fairgrounds Cafe will precede the tour; those not joining for lunch should plan to meet at the Fairgrounds Cafe at 1:00pm to begin the tour.

Please RSVP by paying the $25 fee. If you plan to drive and can offer rides, please call the Village office.
