Hang out with Mother Nature in a Corn Maze

It’s fall and that means finding your way through a maze of corn. Visit Kroll, a family  farm near Waukegan with different themes each year. This year’s theme is Roots of America. In the first portion of the maze, one finds answers to questions that will be posted in several parts of the maze. Answer the questions correctly on the easy download app, and you’ll get a small prize. Figure about an hour to get through the maze. You’ll be able to see your location on the app, and besides we’ll be together. Dress for the weather, that means sturdy shoes or hiking boots. Having done this maze for years, I can tell you—it’s perfectly delightful to be surrounded by tall stalks of corn. Visit the farm animals, buy a Halloween decoration at the local crafts store, select a pumpkin, and eat a cider doughnut.
