Teaming up again after their 1940 success The Philadelphia Story, director George Cukor and screenwriter Donald Ogden Stewart made this rarely seen 1942 Spencer Tracy/Katherine Hepburn drama. The movie opens, similar to Citizen Kane, with the death of a famous American, here wealthy war hero Robert Forrest, and journalists vie to tell his story. Tracy wants the inside scoop and finds his way to the widow, Hepburn. Does he find out more than he expected? Do they fall for each other? Watch, find out, and let’s discuss.
