Saturday Afternoon at the Movies
Saturday, October 10 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Free
Members & guests–free
Every Saturday afternoon, join fellow film aficionados of the Village for an in-depth organic discussion of films new and old. Watch the selected film any time–or enjoy the discussion and be persuaded to view it after!
This week’s film is:
Truth: 2015, 125min, Amazon & others $4
(make sure you get the 2015 film with Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford)
In 2004, Dan Rather and his producer Mary Mapes aired a story that then-president George Bush evaded military service in the early 1970s. Whether the story is true doesn’t seem as important as whether the story has holes, which it does, and for which some heads are going to roll. With Robert Redfoord as Rather and Cate Blanchett as Mapes and Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men) and Topher Grace as fellow journalists. If this happened today, CBS would be forever banned from the White House.
