In 1963, cowboys Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaul) and Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger) are hired as sheep herders on Brokeback Mountain in Wyoming. There, they let down their defenses and their lives are forever changed. Do they go their separate ways after? Do they stay in touch? What are midwest cowboys like them do in the 1960s? The film came out in 2005. Nominated for tons of awards. It won Oscars for best director (Ang Lee), best adapted screenplay (Larry McMurtry & Diana Ossama), and musical score. Both actors were nominated.
