Reading the Rainbow is a bi-monthly book discussion group featuring a lively conversation of LGBTQ+ texts. People of all identities, including allies, are welcome!
In recognition of the recent passing of seminal LGBTQ+ writer Edmund White, in August we are reading his classic 1982 novel, A Boy’s Own Story. A semi-autobiographical coming of age story about a young boy growing up in the 1950s, A Boy’s Own Story is the first in a trilogy depicting the struggles and triumphs of finding love and community in a homophobic society.
A Boy’s Own Story is available in paperback, kindle, and audiobook forms.
