Welcome to Miranda Beach, Florida, where the temperature outside seems hotter than your body temp, even at night. There you’ll find Matty Walker (Kathleen Turner in one of the best debuts ever), who’s married to wealthy and often absent businessman Edmund (Richard Crenna). She meets local attorney Ned Racine (William Hurt), who’s incorrigible, “horny,” and ultimately successful in wooing her, Just when you thought it couldn’t get hotter, it does. Lawrence Kasdan (The Big Chill, Silverado, and cowriter of Raiders of the Lost Ark) in his directorial debut takes the film noirs and femme fatales of the ’40s to the next level.  Also with Ted Danson, JA Preston, and Mickey Rourke.
