Remembering Rob Reiner (Stand By Me, Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, This is Spinal Tap I & II). In his only film nominated for a best picture Oscar, Tom Cruise is a military lawyer defending two Marines charged with killing a fellow marine at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base. Cruise is known for seeking plea bargains, but fellow defense attorney Demi Moore believes the accused marines were carrying out orders from commanding officers. Jack Nicholson plays the ranking officer at GitMo. Is there a cover up? Can Cruise prove it? Does the military really cover up mistakes? Is Nicholson the most fun asshole to watch on screen?
