This holiday season, we invite you to join the Village Chicago’s LGBTA Committee for a special gathering to support The Night Ministry’s efforts in helping Chicago’s homeless community. Together, we’ll come together to assemble holiday stockings and backpacks filled with essential winter items to bring warmth and care to those in need.

What to Expect:

• Stocking & Backpack Packing: Bring some items from the list below, and we’ll work together to fill stockings and backpacks for those served by The Night Ministry.
• Movie Screening: We’ll watch The Homestretch, a moving documentary about homeless teenagers in Chicago.
• Guest Speakers: We’re honored to welcome the Executive Director of The Night Ministry, who will share insights into their work. Additionally, The Village Chicago’s Don Bell will join to offer his perspective on the impact of homelessness in our community.
• Light Refreshments: Enjoy light snacks and beverages as we work together and learn more about this cause.

What to Bring:
Each stocking or backpack should include these essential items:

• Winter hat
• Pair of warm gloves
• Pair of adult socks
• Keychain flashlight
• Hand and toe warmers
• Full-size deodorant
• Travel-size lotion
• Lip balm
• Bath/body wipes
• Toothbrush
• Travel-size toothpaste
• Small nail clippers
• Assorted candy
• Optional: $5/$10 gift cards for Dunkin’ or McDonald’s for an extra bit of warmth and comfort

If you are unable to bring all items, no problem—just bring what you can. Every little bit helps, and your contribution will make a difference in someone’s life this winter.
