Hear ye, hear ye! Medicare Open Enrollment is upon us! If you are interested in changing your prescription drug coverage (Part D) or want to know about the new updates to take effect in January 2025, have no fear, SHIP (Senior Health Insurance Program) is here! In partnership with the Chicagoland Villages Collaborative, the Department of Family and Support Services – Senior Services will be hosting a virtual presentation on Thursday, October 24 where you can receive the most recent updates to Medicare Part D and learn how you can make informed choices about your coverage during this open enrollment season. Looking forward to seeing you online   Dr. Victoria Russo is Supervisor of Family and Support Services with the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services- Senior Services Division where she manages and conducts outreach and education programs for caregivers and older adults. She received her PhD in Sociology with an emphasis in Life-course and Aging from Loyola University Chicago and a Master’s degree in Gerontological Studies from Miami University, OH. Prior to joining DFSS in 2020, Dr. Russo was adjunct faculty with Concordia University Chicago in the Graduate Gerontology Program. Text Link Danielle Riley, LSW joined DFSS Senior Services in July 2021 as a Community Services Representative bringing over 10 years of social work experience into her role. Over the course of her career, she has served as a community educator and advocate, navigating systems, and working to solve complex problems that affect the lives of disadvantaged groups. She has over 6 years of experience working within the aging community, supporting older adults and their caregivers with managing chronic illnesses and dementia diagnosis, preventing falls, and engaging in services to improve their overall health and lives. When she is not conducting community outreach or facilitating one of a myriad of the education programs offered by DFSS, Danielle is spending time with her family and friends and enjoying chai lattes from Starbucks!
