A speech therapist with MemoryCare Corporation has offered to host a virtual presentation about communication changes and strategies, specifically in interacting with someone who is experiencing cognitive decline or who carries a diagnosis of dementia. This presentation will be led by speech therapist, Samantha McGovern, who has experience working in the field. There will be education provided at the beginning of this presentation, and plenty of time for specific questions that may arise throughout the duration of the presentation.
Samantha is a New England native living in Chicago! She graduated from Northeastern University in Boston then received her Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Connecticut. Currently working for Memory and Aphasia Care Corp as the Director of Rehabilitation in Chicago, she specializes in providing therapy including education and counseling to patients impacted by neurodegenerative disease. Additionally, she has a certification in health and life coaching and sees clients through her private practice. When not practicing as a clinician, she is with her family in Logan Square enjoying all the city has to offer.
