Every year, one out of four older adults experiences a fall resulting in injury. Fall injuries may require surgery, a lengthy hospital stay, and brief use of supportive devices such as a brace, cane or walker. The common denominator in recovery from any fall injury is physical therapy! Come learn from one of Chicago’s premier experts in all aspects of physical therapy, Liz Yerly, of IMPACT Physical Therapy and Chicago Recovery Room. Liz will talk about fall prevention and recovery, address how to strengthen our bodies to help prevent falling, and what to expect from physical therapy if it is prescribed as part of recovery. We will also have an opportunity to follow along as Liz demonstrates movements that will prepare and strengthen our bodies as we age.
