This month’s film is Bringing Up Baby (1938) – often considered the definitive screwball filmand one of versatile director Howard Hawks’ greatest comedies. The fast-paced film involves the unlikely relationship between Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant playing against type in a classic “conflict” of the sexes: a mad-cap, scheming, daffy society heiress, and a bumbling, absent-minded, stuffy paleontologist. The film is available to rent on Amazon Prime ($2.99), Google Play ($2.99), Vudu ($4.99), or free (with subscription) on HBO Max or DirectTV .
