In 2023, we will read the selections in “Counterparts” from the Great Books Foundation. These readings are very accessible selections by authors such as Oscar Wilde, David Sedaris, and Betty Friedan. Come join the conversation! This discussion group is now in its thirteenth year, but new members are encouraged to join! The readings are short and stimulating, the conversations are lively, and the group is very welcoming to new participants.
For July, the group will read the selections on “Science”: “Rappaccini’s Daughter” by Nathaniel Hawthorne and “Vivisection” by Claude Bernard.

- Reservations required for all events.
- For virtual programs, links will be sent to registered attendees via email the day before the event.
- For in-person programs, The Village Chicago aims to match participating members by request to Village events when other members who are attending the event are able to provide transportation. When registering, please let the Village office know if you are able to drive or would like a ride by emailing [email protected] or calling 773.248.8700.
