Health Hub

Thursday, April 11 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

Members & guests- free! RSVP below.

Please join us for our second session of Health Hub. This program intends to draw like-minded, science-focused individuals who are interested in wellbeing and related lifestyle behaviors. The topic will change each session, and we are open to suggestions for future chats. During this session, we will discuss “trending diets.” Are you sick of seeing a new fad diet pop up each week? Here, we will explore diets that have been proven to contribute to overall wellness, how to determine which are evidence-based, and how to avoid any “fake news” nutrition updates. There will be plenty of time to discuss some existing diets and research, whatever nutrition articles or diets you have heard come up recently, and discuss how we might incorporate some of what we learned into our own daily routines. Hope to see you there!

About the presenter: Brooke Nanni oversees the brain health and memory loss programs at The Village Chicago. She is a social service and public health professional who has obtained undergraduate degrees in psychology and speech pathology as well as a graduate degree in public health. She recently became a certified dementia practitioner (CDP) through the NCCDP. Brooke started her career in the intellectual disabilities field and began working with older adults within a senior living community, from there moving into legal guardianship and program management. Most recently, Brooke has been working with the Alzheimer’s Association as part of a lifestyle intervention research study aiming to protect brain health in older adults. She is looking forward to finding ways to apply her experience to help establish better brain health and to navigate cognitive changes.
