Reading the Rainbow: Autobiography of Red

Wednesday, October 12, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

Members and guests – free. To RSVP, scroll down. The day before the event, all registered attendees will receive an email with instructions on how to join via Zoom.

Join us for the third installment of Reading the Rainbow, a book club exploring the LGBTA experience where everyone is welcome.

This month’s reading is Autobiography of Red by Anne Carson. This is a book of apparent contradictions: a novel written in blank verse, it follows a red winged monster from a Greek myth as he falls in love and realizes himself as an artist in the present day. At once funny, surreal, and moving, ‘Autobiography of Red’ is an utterly original LGBT coming of age story written by one of the most renowned contemporary poets/writers in the English language. (And it’s also one of Callie’s favorite books!)
