Location: A Member’s Home

The play reading group will next read the great Noel Coward’s much-revived classic, Blithe Spirit. A smash comedy hit on London and Broadway stages, the play  offers wit, conflict, and big laughs as a fussy, cantankerous novelist who has re-married  finds himself haunted by the ghost of his late first wife who has been called up by a “happy medium,” the eccentric Madame Arcati.

Blithe Spirit premiered on Broadway at the Morosco Theatre on November 5, 1941.The production featured Clifton Webb, Leonora Corbett, Mildred Natwick and Peggy Wood.

The script we are using can be purchased here.
